Meet the Photographer and Studio Owner - Janette Osvay
Behind every great portrait studio is a passionate photographer—and ours brings nearly two decades of experience to every single session. Janette has worked hard over the years to master her skills and to achieve several professional accreditations and awards. Still, her one and most important goal is to create precious memories for her clients in the form of timeless art. What makes her the happiest is to know that people will look back at these portraits for many years to come with fond memories, and that they will always put a smile on their faces.
Different Early Career, followed by 20 Years of Professional Photography Experience
Janette first studied quite different things from photography - public administration and economics, with marketing and advertising as her major. After working in the corporate world for a few years back in Europe, she decided to follow her dream and passion in portrait photography. She started studying photography in 2004 in Australia, graduated in 2007 - while juggling family life with two babies - and opened her first official studio in Sydney in 2010. After living and working in Cambridge, UK and Singapore between 2013 and 2018, she moved back to Australia with her growing family and opened her studio in Pymble.
With close to 20 years as a professional photographer, living and working on 3 continents, gathering skills, experience and knowledge, Janette has dedicated her career to mastering the art of portraiture. That’s two decades of lighting knowledge. Two decades of posing expertise. Two decades of helping everyday people feel extraordinary in front of the camera.
Experience matters. It’s the difference between “That’s a nice photo” and “Wow… that’s true art!”
A Passion for Portraiture
Janette believes that portrait photography isn’t just about clicking a button. It’s about connection.
It’s about reading body language, understanding insecurities, and knowing exactly how to guide someone into a pose that feels natural and flattering. Whether it’s maternity, newborn or family portraits, each session is tailored to tell your story.

From early on in her career, Janette has found her calling in Maternity and Newborn Portraiture and in Motherhood Photography. She has photographed many hundreds of newborn babies - nearly 1000, actually - and overjoyed mothers, from expecting through capturing them with their growing families. She found real joy and passion in her work, to the point where she wakes up every day excited about walking into her studio and creating art.

Expertise in Makeup and Hair Styling
Penny's passion from an early age has always been in the arts. Having studied fine arts at university & majoring in contemporary still life painting, she later fell in love with the fashion world & the art of makeup design. Spending time in both Paris & Shanghai, she fine-tuned her skills to later work with some of the most exclusive luxury brands in the world. With every client interaction, she aims to provide a personalised, tailor-made experience covering a variety of occasions & settings. Areas of expertise include Bridal, Fashion, Cinema, TV, FX artistic, Stage, Body painting, and Asian Makeup
With professional training and a keen eye for detail, our stylist knows exactly how makeup translates on camera. What looks good in person doesn’t always photograph the same way. Lighting changes everything.
