Belly Casting - A Beautiful Keepsake of Your Pregnancy

newborn shoot sydney

Preserve the beautiful shape of your baby bump with a unique piece of art that celebrates this special chapter of your life.

Pregnancy is such a precious, fleeting time. Your baby grows, your bump changes, and before you know it, your little one is in your arms. A belly cast is a beautiful way to preserve the memory of your pregnancy – a three-dimensional keepsake of the amazing journey your body has been on.

We offer professional belly casting sessions, either as an addition to your maternity portrait session or as a special experience on its own.

Belly Only Casting is included in our BumpToBaby Bundles as complimentary. If you are not choosing one of our BumpToBaby Bundles, you can still book Belly Casting online by visiting our Book Online page.

A Relaxing and Personal Experience

Creating your belly cast is a simple, relaxing process. Using plaster gauze strips, we carefully shape a cast of your beautiful baby bump, creating a lasting impression of your pregnancy. The casting process usually takes around 20–30 minutes, followed by drying time before the cast can be gently removed.

All you need to do is sit back comfortably and relax while we take care of the rest. The process can get a little messy, but that's part of the fun! Our studio has a bathroom with a shower right next door, so you can freshen up afterwards and leave feeling comfortable and refreshed.

Your Belly Cast, Your Way

Every mum and every pregnancy is unique, so your belly cast can be created to suit your wishes and imagination.

  • Baby bump only: A simple, beautiful cast of your pregnant belly.

  • Belly, breasts and chest: A more comprehensive cast that captures more of your beautiful pregnancy silhouette.

  • A natural finish: Keep your cast plain for a simple, timeless look.

  • A personalised artwork: Have your cast smoothed and painted to create a beautiful decorative piece, with colours and finishing touches discussed with you beforehand. We can even attach your belly cast onto a stand, so it stands on its own.

We are happy to talk you through the possibilities, share our ideas and recommendations, and help you create something truly special. From a simple keepsake to a more elaborate work of art, the choice is yours.

A Special Connection Between Maternity and Newborn Portraits

Did you know your belly cast can also become a unique prop for your baby's newborn portraits?

Imagine a photograph of your precious newborn nestled inside the very shape that once held them close. It's a beautiful way to tell the story of your journey from pregnancy to motherhood, connecting two unforgettable chapters of your family's life.

Your finished cast can be kept as a treasured memento, displayed in your home or incorporated into a meaningful newborn photography session.
