"Being a family means you are a part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life". – Lisa Weed

Families are forever!

We believe in the importance of capturing precious memories of your family. Have something stunning on your wall that makes you smile, emotional and full of fond memories. We would love to tell your story and show how special and precious your family is.

And most importantly: EXIST IN PHOTOGRAPHS FOR YOUR CHILDREN, WITH YOUR CHILDREN! They will be grateful for it, and they will treasure portraits of you with them for many years.

WHERE ARE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS HELD? WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO LOCATED, AND DO YOU COME TO OUR HOME OR TO A LOCATION FOR A SESSION?

We offer a range of options, so you can choose the setting that best suits your family and the style of photographs you'd love to create.

Our luxury Sydney North Shore family photography studio is located in Pymble, on a quiet, leafy street surrounded by a beautiful garden. The studio provides a relaxed, private environment where we have complete control over the lighting and surroundings, allowing us to create timeless family portraits all year round, regardless of the weather. The lush garden surrounding the studio also offers a beautiful natural backdrop for relaxed outdoor family photographs without needing to travel to another location.

If you love the outdoors, we're also happy to photograph your family at one of Sydney's many beautiful parks, beaches, or gardens. Whether you dream of a golden sunset at the beach, a peaceful walk through a leafy park, or a favourite family location that holds special memories, we'll help you choose the perfect setting to reflect your family's personality.

We also offer in-home family photography sessions for families who feel most comfortable in their own home. Your home is where many of your family's most meaningful moments happen, and it can provide a wonderfully personal backdrop for your portraits. Whether you've recently welcomed a new baby, your children feel more relaxed in familiar surroundings, or your home has sentimental value, we're happy to come to you and capture your family exactly as you are.

We will guide you every step of the way, whether your session takes place in our boutique studio, outdoors, or in your own home. Our goal is always the same—to create relaxed, natural photographs that capture the genuine love and connection between your family.

Please note that travel to your home or an outdoor location may incur an additional travel fee, depending on the distance from our Pymble studio. We'll always discuss this with you beforehand so there are no surprises.

If you're looking for an experienced Sydney North Shore family photographer, we'd love to help you choose the perfect location for your session. Contact us today, and together we'll create a personalised family photography experience in the place that feels most meaningful to you.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR OUR FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?

Choosing what to wear for your family photography session is one of the questions we're asked most often, and the good news is—you don't have to figure it out on your own. We're here to help you every step of the way.

The goal is to create timeless family portraits that you'll still love decades from now. That's why we generally recommend choosing classic, coordinated outfits rather than matching everyone in exactly the same colour. Think of your family's clothing as complementing one another rather than being identical.

Soft, neutral tones and earthy colours such as cream, white, beige, oatmeal, soft browns, sage green, dusty blue, olive, rust, and muted blush photograph beautifully and help keep the focus where it belongs—on your family's connection and the genuine emotions you share.

We recommend avoiding large logos, bold graphics, fluorescent colours, or very busy patterns, as these can distract from the people in the photograph and may make your portraits feel dated over time.

If your session is taking place outdoors, we'll also consider the location and the season when helping you choose your outfits. Whether we're photographing your family on the beach at sunset, in a leafy park, or in our beautiful garden in Pymble, we'll guide you towards colours and styles that complement the surroundings perfectly.

Comfort is just as important as style, especially when young children are involved. We want everyone to feel relaxed and able to move naturally, cuddle, play, and interact during the session. When you're comfortable, your expressions are more genuine, and that's when the most beautiful photographs happen.

Before your session, we'll provide personalised wardrobe advice and are always happy to review outfit options if you'd like a second opinion. Many families even send us photos of a few different outfits beforehand, and we're more than happy to help them choose the combination that will photograph best.

Most importantly, wear something that feels like you.

Your family photographs should tell your story—not someone else's. Whether your style is relaxed and casual, modern and elegant, or somewhere in between, we'll help you create a look that reflects your family's personality while ensuring your portraits remain timeless.

With nearly 20 years of experience as a Sydney North Shore family photographer, we've learned that beautiful family portraits aren't about wearing expensive clothes or following the latest fashion trends. They're about celebrating the love, laughter, and connection you share with the people who matter most.

CAN THE GRANDPARENTS - AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE EXTENDED FAMILY - COME TO OUR FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSION?

Absolutely! In fact, we love photographing multi-generational family portraits. Bringing grandparents, adult children, grandchildren, and other close family members together creates photographs that become even more meaningful as the years go by.

Some of the most treasured portraits we create are those that celebrate three or even four generations of a family in a single image. These are the photographs that are passed down through generations, displayed proudly on the walls of your home, and looked back on with love for decades to come.

Our luxury Sydney North Shore family photography studio in Pymble is surprisingly spacious and can comfortably accommodate up to 25 people, making it perfect for extended family portrait sessions. We'll photograph the entire family together, as well as a variety of smaller groupings, such as grandparents with their grandchildren, siblings and their families, individual family units, cousins together, and, of course, plenty of candid moments in between.

For even larger family gatherings, we often recommend an outdoor family photography session, where we have more space to create beautiful group portraits while also capturing relaxed interactions and natural moments. Whether it's in a picturesque park, at the beach, or another favourite location, outdoor sessions are ideal for large family celebrations and reunions.

We know how to organise larger groups efficiently while keeping the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. We'll gently guide everyone into flattering positions, making sure each person can be seen clearly and helping create natural smiles and genuine connections. Our goal is for the experience to be just as memorable as the photographs themselves.

Extended family portrait sessions are perfect for celebrating life's special milestones, whether it's welcoming a new baby, marking a significant birthday or anniversary, gathering everyone together over the holidays, or simply recognising how rare and precious it is to have the whole family in one place.

These portraits become more valuable with every passing year. Children grow up, families change, and the opportunity to have multiple generations together doesn't come around nearly as often as we'd like. Investing in professional family portraits is a wonderful way to preserve your family's story for future generations.

If you're looking for an experienced Sydney North Shore family photographer to capture your extended family, we'd be honoured to help. Contact us today to start planning your multi-generational family photography session, and let's create beautiful memories your family will cherish for a lifetime.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY TODDLER - OR SMALL CHILDREN - DON'T COOPERATE DURING OUR FAMILY PHOTO SHOOT?

First of all... please don't worry! This is probably one of the biggest concerns parents have before a family photography session, and the truth is, it's completely normal.

Toddlers are wonderfully curious, energetic, independent, and unpredictable—that's part of what makes them so special! We never expect young children to sit perfectly still, smile on command, or pose for long periods of time. In fact, if they did, they probably wouldn't be acting like toddlers at all.

With nearly 20 years of experience photographing babies, toddlers, and families, we've learned that creating beautiful family portraits isn't about expecting children to cooperate—it's about knowing how to work with them.

Our sessions are relaxed, playful, and completely child-friendly. We spend time getting to know your little ones, chatting with them, making silly noises, telling funny jokes, playing little games, and encouraging natural interaction rather than asking them to constantly look at the camera. We gently guide children instead of directing them, giving them the freedom to be themselves while capturing genuine smiles, cuddles, laughter, and connection.

Some of the most beautiful photographs happen in the in-between moments—a spontaneous cuddle with Mum, a giggle while Dad is making funny faces behind the camera, little hands reaching for a sibling, or a curious toddler exploring the garden before running back for a big family hug. These are the moments that truly tell your family's story.

We also understand that young children can become tired, hungry, shy, or overwhelmed, especially in unfamiliar surroundings. That's why we never rush our sessions. If your child needs a cuddle, a snack, a little break, or simply a few minutes to warm up, that's absolutely fine. We work at your family's pace, creating a calm and enjoyable experience for everyone.

As parents, there's one thing we'd love you to remember: please don't stress if your child isn't "performing." Children are incredibly perceptive, and they quickly pick up on Mum and Dad's emotions. The more relaxed you are, the more relaxed they'll feel too. Trust us to guide the session—we've photographed hundreds of toddlers over the years, and we know that patience, flexibility, and a sense of humour go a long way.

At our Sydney North Shore family photography studio, we're not trying to capture perfect children—we're capturing your children. Their cheeky smiles, big personalities, endless curiosity, and the unique little quirks that make them who they are today. Years from now, those authentic moments will mean far more than a perfectly posed smile.

If you're looking for an experienced Sydney North Shore family photographer who understands young children and creates relaxed, enjoyable family photography sessions, we'd love to welcome your family. Contact us today to book your session and let us create beautiful memories that reflect the real love, laughter, and connection within your family.
